On my commute to work, I often grab a latte as a nice way to set the tone for my day. I know most people are great about saving a few bucks every morning, but not me. I think life’s too short to not enjoy a cup of something I love. And, my office doesn’t have almond (or soy) milk – so that’s my other legitimate excuse.
While Midtown Manhattan (near Bryant Park) is just Midtown and missing a lot of NYC charm (local, unique restaurants and shops)…Bluestone Lane has arrived and is changing up the scene. Of course, I fell in love with this boutique coffee shop immediately for a few reasons.
- Bluestone Lane originates from Melbourne, Australia, where premium coffee is a way of life. Some of the employees even have that beautiful accent. Enough said.
- They offer an ‘avo smash’ on their menu that I love for a healthy, nutritious breakfast. Avocado smashed on multi-grain toast with olive oil, lemon juice and a touch of red pepper, black pepper and salt. Yum. Bluestone also has other delightful, fresh pastries and treats I have yet to try.
- Bluestone’s baristas actually spend an extra minute to curate a delicious latte and if you’re lucky, you’re surprised with coffee art. While they do understand we’re always in a rush in NYC, you can tell they make your cup of joe with some extra love. No Starbucks monotony here.
- The coffee is fresh and strong. Done.

Currently, Bluestone Lane has 4 NYC different locations – 3 Coffee Shops and a Collective Cafe:
- Bryant Park at 43rd and 6th Ave (the only location I’ve tried to date)
- Midtown East at 49th and 3rd Avenue
- Financial District at 30 Broad Street (aka. Wall Street)
- West Village at Greenwich Ave & Perry St
- *The only Collective Cafe offering a full breakfast and lunch. Dying to try this soon!
If you are near Bryant Park area for a meeting or maybe you’re visiting NYC with a friend, I would highly recommend spending a few minutes at this Australian gem!
