Mia Orzo, owner of Dry & Dash, is changing the in-home hair styling game in Hoboken and beyond! Not only is she super sweet, she is a talented hairstylist, a beauty maven and a girl boss. I had the chance to meet with Mia and experience Dry & Dash first-hand for a much needed blowout at my home this past Saturday morning. It was absolute PERFECTION.
As a client, you get to experience the luxury of being in your own space to get beautified and you do not have to rush around to make it to an appointment. This is ideal when you’re already feeling stressed and anxious about making it to an event on time, which is typically the story of my life. It’s also wonderful when the weather is below zero (don’t remind me) or it’s humid and rainy (ew), as you don’t risk ruining your recently styled hair! Even more, you don’t NEED a true reason to treat yourself to a blowout! It’s a fun weekend treat for you and your besties before you hit the town for dinner and cocktails.
I also LOVE the affordability of Dry & Dash’s in-home services. Ranging from a blowout for $60, a haircut for $80 and an updo for $100. Everything is cost effective and the luxury of being at home is priceless. Dry & Dash also offers bridal services, which I will be recommending to my own bride-to-be friends.
All you need to do is book a quick appointment for the service of your choice HERE, as early as you can to ensure Dry & Dash has availability. Dry & Dash will then come directly to your desired location (home, your boyfriend’s home, your office… or wherever it may be) in Hoboken, Jersey City, NYC and Brooklyn, you have a quick chat with your hairstylist about your preferred hair style or show a photo (Pinterest inspiration, ladies), then VOILA! You’re as beautiful and DASHING as ever.
For a limited time, ALL Hoboken and Jersey City residents will receive $15 off all in-home services (Blowouts, Haircuts, and Updos) using Promo Code: L&H when you book today! Get on it.
*Hint: This means, a blowout in your home will ONLY be $45.00. This is pretty equivalent to the blowout prices in our neighborhood and you do not have to even step outside!

What inspired you to launch Dry & Dash? What year did you launch?
Prior to Dry & Dash I worked for a big salon in New York and on my days off I often scheduled clients in-home. I wanted to create a much more relaxing and convenient experience for women. Whether it be early morning office-calls or late night house-calls, I wanted to be available to women when they need me the most. February of 2014 was when I said goodbye to salon life and hello to Dry & Dash!
What are your favorite hair brands/products that you like to use on your clients?
Oribe is my absolute favorite haircare line. Every single one of their products smells and feels amazing. I’m totally addicted and my clients are too… Money well spent!
What do you love most about running your own company?
I love how flexible my schedule is and the fact that I don’t have to be stuck inside a salon all day when I don’t have a client booked. I enjoy that my schedule is different every week, it never gets boring! There’s also nothing more rewarding than being your own boss!
How do you stay on top of beauty hair trends? Do you have a main source for inspiration?
Honestly, I have found Instagram to be my main source for inspiration. I follow a lot of Celebrity Hairstylists such as Jen Atkin, Riawna Capri, Sarah Potempa and Charlie Price. Their work seems to spark my eye the most and always inspires me to try new hairstyles and methods.
What is your favorite quote?
“A woman who cuts her hair is about to change her life.” – Coco Chanel
What do you like to do when you’re not busy blowing out hair and making your clients beautiful?
Travel! I would kill to be on the beach, somewhere warm right now.
On that note, I’m super excited to make another appointment in the coming days. Every lady deserves to have her hair on point!
